Wealth of Alien Movie Resources

I found this "blogspot" and wanted to share it. But get ready to spend several hours looking and reading! Be sure to click around. So much information and pictures. I especially love the artwork for the original Alien, and how it may relate to Prometheus!

Boggles the mind.

Check it out:

I popped this up because I saw all the speculations and ponderings about Prometheus. There are several excerpts of Scott interviews with The Wall Street Journal, etc about the new movie, as well as a big section about how the original Alien was supposed to have a lot more storyline on the jockey and the alien life cycle and origin. I bet some of those old concepts come into play in Prometheus.

Did you know, for instance, that the alien egg chamber originally was going to be in a giant, breast-shaped pyramid? And the Nostromo was going to be called the Snark or Leviathan?

Read on!

yeah really old stuff. I think everybody knows that the derelict ship idea was made almost in a hurry due to budget reasons, and It certainly ended up being a lot better and creepier than the pyramid idea.

However, I hadn't read about the following in that site:

Prometheus Community - Space Jockey body in the Derelict ship | Prometheus-Movie.com

Those dudes are discussing whether the egg chamber we always though to be placed bellow the pilot's chamber wasn't exactly part of the ship but a cave that is right underneath It. This has made me think about the part in the prometheus trailer where we see the derelict, or at least a ship like the old one, kind of..., docked to the ground?, I have to admit I have some doubts on the subject right now after readong through all those comments..., still, I think the front part of the derelict is huge enough to have the pilot's room and the chamber all together.

However, Kane, Dallas and Mrs Lambert didn't have to climb more than one wall to reach jockey's room, so......

I saw the original Alien in the theater in 1979. I was about 14. I remember even then, thinking "the chamber it too big, it must be a cave just under the ship".

I was one of those kids who obsessed about scale. I could never play with my Hot Wheels cars and my Tonka trucks at the same time. Or display my 1/24 scale model kits too close to my 1/32 kits. I once had a fight with a kid who wanted to play with his big GI Joe next to his little green army men.

Ridiculous, if you ask me. My only consolation is that the graphics will be all the better.

You must have hated the vehicle they were driving around in Aliens.
