» Predator vs Predator 2

[Ripley]

I loved Predator 2 more than the original. There was something eat about it being a "regular Joe" cop rather than a pumped up action hero doing the fighting. Also, the sneaky CIA-style guys trying to capture it was an awesome side story.

But many of my friends think that P2 sucked and loved Arnie in P1. What do you guys think?

Neither of them sucked for me, and I don't really have a favourite either. I was never as attracted to them as I was to the Alien franchise. For me, one's as good as the other, but they're definitely not bad.

I enjoyed both, but I probably enjoyed number 2 better. Mainly because of the setting (urban warfare) and because we learned so much more about the Predator species. Although I did think it strange that one cop could defeat the Pred where a squad of elite special forces troops could not.

I also agree... even though I think the first one was great, the second just had a story that appealed to me more.

Is it just me or did I not hear the original Predator's (signature) battle cry even once in the second? It just sounded like the Aliens from Resurrection.

The only cry I remember the Pred making in number two was when he did the cauterisation of his missing limb after the Super-Cop cut it off.

I prefer the first one. You just can't beat the jungle setting and the commandos. Though Predator 2 is really good as well.

Predator was a classic. Plus, Arnie was in it and all his movies rock. Predator 2 was good, but very similar to the first one, so I think P1 takes the cake.

Predator 2 never sucked, don,t listen to them. All characters and extra characters such as the drug dealers and all that scum were just outstanding, as well as Danny Glover (totally unexpected I know, but he did well imo). Also, It was more than wellcome to see new predator war gear by those times..., we predator fans were more or less stucked with the plasma caster, the medic device and the blades

In any case, I liked predator 1 more than the second, but this never means the second movie was worse than the first.
