In Predator 2, City Hunter was epic god-modded, so I say Predator.

The original by far. Predator 2, for me anyway, suffers from it's very specific timeline setting-Los Angeles in 1997 looked nothing like that, obviously. Danny Glover is a good actor, but I think he was miscast here, and I tend to find the whole idea of some cop defeating an alien from another star system to be a little impossible. They'd have been better off focusing on the CIA guys trying to capture the beast.

Also, I really dug the way Arnold sorta devolves in the original-he, and his team, go from attempting to kill the Predator with guns, and then a nasty, nasty ambush, and then finally Arnie's covering himself in mud to avoid being seen on infrared and making spears out of knives and stuff. There wasn't an equivalent to that in the 2nd one and it was really rather disappointing.

Plus the ridiculously OTT "PREDATOR 2" in gigantic neon letters kinda aggravates me from the start.

Hey Charles wellcome man.

Predator2 didn,t get the feeling of the first film, jungle is the ideal set for predators and more if his preys are people like Arnold; It was also the introduction to the franchise, and the first film can,t usually get replaced by the prequel, such was the case for the alien franchise imo.

One of the things I enjoyed the most about p2 was the set itself, with the city and police fighting, the drug dealers (they all were awesome) and the overall atmosphere of the movie. Los Angeles 1997 at war, just great imo and a new hunting ground for a new pred, because after all preds just come in the hottest summers in the seek for the human prey. Another set with an agent of the CIA being the hero might have been more interesting as you say, but I,m not sure at all. Interestin yes, but all that outstanding atmosphere about the drug dealers and very M-rated violence (dialogues include) might have been not possible, and the pred was there just because of that, the ambience of violence.

I didn,t care about Danny Glover, I mean, if he fits the role for the hero against such a danger like a predator or not. I really think the movie ended up being such a very high quality product (no matter Its budget) and I didn,t miss Arnold just one bit. We saw some pretty orginal predator weaponry; we found out that they live in clans (at least that predator, the first one maybe not), and more about that honor thingy the avp franchise has exploited too much imo, because I,m not sure if the first predator was under some code of honor..., maybe in the end, but I think the pred gave Arnold the honor of fighting It in melee just for being such a pussy prey before.

The second predator was stalking Danny Glover the whole film; it got impressed by Harrigan,s actions at the beginning, just like the first pred got impressed by Arnold,s squad, so then the predator decided they were worth the hunt; however, the second pred proved tried to kill Harrigan as fast as possible, and in the last scene, predator,s ship, the pred even tried to get him by surprise, not head on and things like that.

They were both good. I like the first better, but the second was good.
My Favorite character from either movie was Mac.

Predator for me. As stated in earlier posts, the jungle is more where the pred belongs; what better place to hunt than the jungle. Plus when they all unload into the jungle: WOOT! damn that was awesome. Although bringing a friggin minigun into the wild like that is....cool, seemed unrealistic. I also loved how they used the jungle to set up traps, only to have them fail. Hell I can't say eveything I like about it, just awesome though.

In Pred 2, they had a controlled envirnment and they still screwed up lol. Predator 2 was good as well, just not as good as the first
