E3 2011: Aliens: Colonial Marines Demo Preview
"When the ashen dust from the wrecked ship settled, the perspective was from the eyes of a surviving soldier. The player was disorientated, and his CO roused the hero to his feet. The commander was thanked by the player's quick flip of the bird, and the soldiers jotted off. It was soon discovered that their crashed ship had just obliterated Hadley's Hope, the prime location of the second movie. The sundered colony made full use of the game's Red Ring engine, easily rendering creepy lighting and shadows touted as influenced by Dead Space."
E3: Aliens: Colonial Marines Deploys
Radar scanners show blips and you know what that means. Xenomorph aliens are coming from all directions, fast and furious. Your fellow marines are being pulled through air ducts and screaming their heads off. There are heavily armored bull aliens out there as well, in case you thought you were home free with the little guys. They just keep coming. This is one of those games that will have you on the edge of your seat.
Aliens: Colonial Marines From Out Of The Shadows
The squad retreats into a large room filled with weapons. Lt. Cruz, a tough looking man with a prosthetic leg, tells his remaining men that this could be their Alamo. With that in mind, the characters grab as much weaponry as they can hold and start fortifying the area. In a hallway, a sentry turret is deployed, and it sweeps the area with a laser sight. A few creatures charge down the hallway and are shredded by automated gunfire. Pitchford took this moment to show off the drop-in, drop-out co-op, which supports up to four players.
Aliens: Colonial Marines will be available spring 2012 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
