@_notbadforahuman: You can hear those "rabid dog" sounds I was talking about (avp2010 trolololaliens) when they are approaching you (sometimes). Those make them feel like space lizards, or raptors even more instead of the things they are supposded to be. Add now to this their ridiculously small size and the fact that you can melee them. No comment needed I pressume.

The best sounds ever used for the aliens were the ones of the first one, specially those that signaled pain (when Ripley toasted It in the pipes onboard the Narcissus), and then those that signaled It was really pissed off at you (when It started rising after being toasted for good, before she opened the hatch). All those old sound effects really suited the biomech monster, making It sound really alien-ish.

Then in second place I would choose, of course, the sound of the classic alien warrior when It is menacing you (one of the two warriors that warned ripley when inside queen's chamber). That one was really alien-ish too.

@_Guirec: Can't remeber those. I had the megadrive version and I guess those were the same. The breathing sounds of the drones hidden behind some corner waiting for you in the ps1 game alien resurrection were definitely one of the best things of that game. Those were taken from the scene when Gediman taunts one of the aliens that is in quarantine.

The megadrive Alien 3 was awful. The SNES game was completely different. It's certainly worth an evening's free time to emulate, I guarantee it.

I don't know who Gediman is. Is that Alien Resurrection? Because Alien Trilogy predates that by about a year, I thought. I've been wrong before...

Its is perfectly understandable that someone who takes the franchise in serious don't want to know about, or even better, stay away from Alien Resurrection (the film, not the game which is mandatory to play). Doctor Gediman was this guy:

I thought so. His assistant yells his name when he gets taken, but I never knew what she was saying.

I always just called him "Dr. Brad Dourif" when describing the scene. Thanks for clarifying.

That scene represented the starting era of the new tiny aliens made for the kids and the casual audience we have been suffering from for almost 18 years. We can still see them in evey alien game since alien resurrection, and more recently in avp2010 and now ACM. Fox endless retardation and ADI crappiness are the main responsibles for this.

Just listen to Ridley Scott saying he's seen the alien in Disney World. There's a reason for uncle Musta to hate everything nowadays alien related people. This ain't random moaning or whinning..., you all one day might understand as long as you liked the monster and the franchise as much as I have done throughout my entire existence. A complete different and classic "Alien-Aliens" experience is actually possible in gaming, but for unknown reasons developers just don't get It right, even GB can't too now (look at their new "alien" warriors, even worse than avp2010 ones).

Hell, even the alien runner (the only good ADI contribution to the franchise, which btw was way better than Giger's runner) sized the same than the old Giger-alien and the classic Cameraliens when on Its two. That's one hell of a creepy alien when on Its two, even more scary than Giger's, believe me.

In Aliens I really loved the sound of Aliens in Pain when Hicks shot it with His Shotgun, sounded pretty creepy imo

Hell yeah, it did.

The adult Aliens in Alien 3 on SNES sounded very similar.
