Lore / Canon

Do you think this game should stay true to the established canon of the Aliens universe or have a free reign to add to it?

Should stay 100% faithful to what we saw in the aliens movie. You wouldn't need to create new alien breeds If you made the aliens as they are supposed to be. Do we really need something more than this:

- A single Giger-alien stalking the squad the whole game. Indestructible, the unstoppable boogieman.

- Alien warriors, not too many encounters with them though. The alien warrior is still a special cast born of a human host (like Giger's) and has nothing to envy to the giger-alien. Make It act in gropus of two-four as maximum and let them be the towering terminators they were supposed to be. Difficulty should raise to extreme levels anytime we encounter a patrol of alien warriors.

- The failed Cameron's alien drone. Here is where GB could perfectly be free to create Its own alien as long as It is smaller than the alien warrior and attacks in swarms..., I mean, the true alien "bug" and the most common enemy we get to fight throughout the entire game.

- The alien runner. Violence taken to another level. No prisoners. Death anywhere It roams.

- Praetorian, only one in the entire game. I know many people will disagree here.

- Facehuggers, chestbursters everywhere around.

- A queen, the usual.

Do we really need more variation than this?

Freedom just regarding human characters, locations, plot and the never ever seen alien drone that Cameron couldn't bring to the film

Lots of variation turns it into Kenner's toy line from the 90's.

Not that some of those aren't awesome, but mostly they were raw cheese.

Love your ideas Musta! And i agree with all except the single Praetorian (like u called). The Aliens as we know them are deadly and scary enough without adding anything new.

However, I feel the Praetorian (bieng the Elite guards of her Majesty) should be in pairs. Have a least two, but I wouldn't say more than six bieng the most.

Quick question for you guys, do you think there is an Empress? The leader of the Race of Xenomorphs?

Well like with the Giger-alien "thing", my personal view of the Praetorian alien is quite radical too, so I understand your position. I consider the praetorian to be a very weird an uncommon to see alien (like the Giger-alien), but for totally different reasons. The reason for the Praetorian to be one only, and not even born yet (It still being in the form of a praetorian egg) are very simple anyway, but the fact that there should be one and one only would be very important to me.

Anyway, the praetorian alien being added to Cameron's lore should be handled with extreme caution. We should not forget this is still an AVP alien and most "Aliens" fanatics would not see It with good eyes, but I know my idea could work. Problem is that I can not make games; well, I can't and I don't know how to xD

And about the empress, what's that?, the queen was called "empress" in avp2 just as matter of..., originality perhaps?, but just that man.

From what I have read, GBX have been given approval to add to the canon. I don't think this is a bad thing. Things have to evolve to stay fresh.

I always looked at the Praetorian as a juvenile queen that never matured unless the living queen was killed. Mostly because that stance offends me the least.

Pray tell which stance offends you the most?

Anything that is in direct contrast with the basic life cycle established by the original triloghy. IE, the Predalien in AvP:R, the Queen in Resurrection.
