Bishop never struck me as one to exagerate but he could have been. Or maybe even his android mind was incorrect about the size of the blast. Either way the old colony is largely irradiated rubble. I still think what the marines will enter is a subterrainian level of the colony that was largely shielded from the explosion. Also nuclear explosions don't vaporize every structure so some outlying areas might have survived largely intact.

I dunno...all the pre-fab materials would have been annihilated, I would think. Nothing about the colony screams "built to last" except for the Atmosphere Processor.

Speaking of which, aren't there, like. 8 more of those things scattered across the planet? I think they mentioned that in the movie novelization but I don't know if it's canon.

I think the size of the nuclear blast said It all. What parts of the colony could have survived that?, only the Derelict survived, obviously, It was very very far from the AP

Exactly. Yet the video feed from the trailer suggests otherwise.

I think this game is probably going to rock, but I am going to have a very hard time accepting it as canon.

I think maybe the outside parts of the colony might have been intact considering the processor that exploded was directly attached to the colony, so there is some room for the colony to be left in tact a little bit. I don't think gearbox could have destroyed the colony considering the feel they were going for was to make it feel like the movie, while continuing the story! You can't have a true aliens game without the dark scary corridor as seen in hadley's hope!

Well we don't have to accept as canon all those ridiculous things like HH surviving the blast, lol that's simply not acceptable, or even worse aliens being affected by radiation (crusher), etc. Also, the fact that they are trying to give all hardcore "aliens" fanatics a wink in a more than clear attempt to ignore alien3 as the true sequel and ending to the franchise is quite pathetic imo. Nevertheless, there isn't exactly an unique canon involving the three alien movies; each of them were very different and represented each director's vision of a so open to speculation universe like the alien universe, so we have three different canons, each of one rich on Its own. This game will be just GB ideas added to the franchise, and very little of Its content will be accepted as canon believe me.
