I think that cover systems work better in 3 person view shooters.
Anyway, taking cover while figthing aliens?, they don't shoot, and taking cover when they pounced would only work on horizontal attacks. You need maximum field of view and, also very important, not to loose formation (4 marines perfectly aligned and shooting at the same time in order to wipe as much warriors as you can..., I mean, maximum squad effectiveness). Also, another important thing while fighting the aliens would be not to lose your attention of the fight, I mean, beign aware in any moment of the different directions they can come from, and taking cover is not very recommended for that. |

I voted for no cover system, but I think the halo or COD system could work as well! I think it would be useful to be able to crouch behind a crate or something so that you are not in the middle of the hallway getting slaughtered, plus it could work in case you need to reload! Most cover systems could work, but I don't wanna see a 3rd person cause I feel that it would change the pace of the game and you would get the full feel of being attacked at all angle and being surprised cause in 3rd person, you can see the Aliens coming behind you! Plus it might get disorienting switching from 1st to 3rd person views!

I think the manual system would work best as you do need a little cover to protect you from acid spray, explotions, hiding from Aliens to ambush them ex. Also if W-Y mercs are in the game, cover would be necessary.

I was going to say similar to Musta. No need for a cover system if fighting things that don't shoot.

I agree with redace. I think gearbox will throw in humans to switch things up, so cover will definitely be necessary! Also, if we could just press a button to crouch and go behind cover, it would allow us to crawl into vents and find other way to fight or escape!

Well as far as I can tell, Gearbox is making this game very first person. So if there will be a cover system of some kind it would probably be along the lines of the 'new cover system' or tried and true 'manual style'. I voted for the former as I like cover systems that allow you to easily lean out, fire and go back quickly. Then again I never expected a cover system in this game unless you are taking on xeno's with ranged attacks or other enemies with firearms.

Is there anything out there which suggests there will be any other enemy than Xenos?

There will be neither praetorians nor runners, which means no acid spitter aliens in ACM, so cover is meaningless.
First and most important rule when fighting against these things should be to keep them at a distance, otherwise death should be certainty Squad advantage = keep firing and don't loose formation otherwise go Rambo, just like me
