What's the difference between a runner, a scout and a drone?

I dunno but they said the Drones were workers that helped around the egg chamber and the Scouts would spy on the player's movements and relay them to the Warriors.

I think the diffrence is a Runner (dog alien) runs fast, a scout is stealty, and a drone is a hive maker

No not exactly Ace. All Aliens can spit up hive secretion. The Runner aka Alien Beast is simply spawned from a quadrupedal host, not always fast, and the Scout is one who works in small groups, is faster and recon.

so the runner is a type of scout but stronger? like a assassin?

It all depends on the host (speed, strength, etc.), but the Runners' general feat is that they are quadrupedal.

Scouts and Drones are the ones who still have their domes (haven't matured into Warriors)... which means they're pretty much the same thing.

To me warriors and drones are just the same thing. They were the boys in charge of the housework in "Aliens".
What if the giger alien, the one you all call scout, is always that big and smooth headed?, perhaps It,s an alien born far away from any hive that It,s not under direct control of the queen, and unlike the warrior, It,s not submitted to her will. that might explain why this alien is that smart and has a lot more iniciative than any other kind of alien. It,s just like a roamer..., the Alien. Also, It should forever have the grey smooth head and the black body color, as a signal of the kind of alien you have just encountered, the one you might find in the less expected place, and never into a hive. That would be best for double reason: -It,s difficult to believe that a creature that big, scary, intelligent, and that showed an incredible initiative acting by Itself can later molt into a smaller one creature, lacking the intelligence and initiative It had before, to the point of being almost retarded if you dare compare It to the thing It was before. -This helps to make of the giger alien an unique creature that you might never encounter while facing the alien menace, because It should need to be born far away from any hive, free of the influence of any queen, and that should always be more difficult to happen (but in "Alien", where the crew of the most famous commercial towing vehicle ever had the misfortune of facing one of these). In conclusion, we would give It a lot more personality and uniqueness by thinking like this. |
